A LIVING DREAM DINNER COLLABORATION!

Disney hosted a small group of creators at Pixar Studios to celebrate the upcoming Disney+ release of Dream Productions, a special 4-part series centered around the movie studio from Inside Out that develops nightly adventures in Riley’s sleeping mind.

To cap the day of exploration, IHC produced an immersive, multi-sensory five course dinner that turned dreams into reality – complete with a whimsical tablescape, personalized place settings and other-worldly dishes.

To achieve this we collaborated with chef, artist and food designer, Jen Monroe, of Bad Taste, noted for her commitment to boundary-pushing, fantastical food exploration.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

As guests entered the venue their senses were immediately captivated by a harpist weaving ethereal melodies. Friendly staff, styled in cozy pajamas, offered guests a choice of two signature themed cocktails or a non-alcoholic alternative.

Guests were then ushered into the private dining room where our guest chef, Jen Monroe, welcomed everyone. With each course, the harp sounded, cueing the lighting color to shift, bathing the room in evolving colors that transformed the mood and ambiance, immersing guests in a multisensory journey.

PRODUCTION DETAILS

Dream Productions introduces categorical genres that all dreams exist within. Our dinner embraced and connected these to what was served, while retaining the colorful, playful and whimsical  intentions the Inside Out franchise has become known for.

Each course gave guests a slightly surreal and dreamlike experience. The dinner consisted of an amuse-bouche served on a dry ice plate, a maze shaped carrot and watermelon salad, a colorful and candy-shaped pasta, a pop rock rainbow unicorn ice cream cone, and a mignardise daydream with a cloud jelly and gelatin balloon.

DECOR

Leaning into the themes of the show, we transformed the space into an immersive dreamscape complete with lush greenery, in-world movie posters, and a gobo light of the show’s title treatment. The room was bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere, with glowing stars and drapery suspended above.

Fantastical decor and details created a magical private dining experience. Each place setting was designed with its own distinct color scheme, a personalized sleep mask and printed menu, adding an extra layer of thoughtfulness to the experience.
