“The TikTok “Girl Dinner” trend got flipped on its head” - Event marketer

A SPECIAL “SURPRISE AND DELIGHT” IMMERSIVE INFLUENCER EVENT TO PROMOTE BLUMHOUSE'S LATEST HORROR OFFERING, ‘ABIGAIL’.

Taking cues from both the film’s setting and plot, as well as the viral “#GirlDinner” trend, we captivated press and influencers into the world of 'Abigail' with a narrative-driven evening that took place at a mansion in Los Angeles. 

The day after, our logo backdrop and cage photo booth graced the official premiere and after party. We also executed a “surprise and delight” scare moment that awaited unknowing moviegoers during a special 4XD screening.

SET DRESSING & DECOR

As soon as guests stepped inside they were brought into the world of Abigail, decorated with gory props, cadavers, bloody body parts, taxidermy decorations, cobwebs and endless guts while finishing touches of bloody cloth covers and ominous ambient music further set the scene. 

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

Once all guests arrived, our Lead Kidnapper addressed the crowd and set the stage for the immersive experience: Guests are here for an “easy” baby sitting job that will pay off big time. Actors roamed the party and mingled with guests, setting the scene for what was about to begin. Attendees were encouraged to start lining up to fulfill their shift.

Throughout their experience, attendees encountered many twists and turns – a decapitated head in the dining room, a gore-drenched Security Room, dead bodies, and even Abigail herself!

Party Time

Throughout the experience, guests enjoyed an open-air party under the moonlit sky with DJ Shana Sarett spinning until the final theatrical moment. An oversized title treatment with blood splatter served as the ultimate photo backdrop, complete with bloodied ballerina outfits, while an analogue photo booth offered guests old-school three-panel picture strips to take home.

All attendees were invited inside the elevator cage from the film with moody lighting and bloody props, capturing both physical and digital branded moments. Guests grazed on #GirlDinner-inspired bites, custom cocktails and mocktails, and indulged in Joey's candy bar stocked with bloody treats and lollipops.

PREMIERE & 4DX STUNT

The day after, Universal partnered with 4DX for a special surprise and delight screening of the feature film for an unsuspecting audience. Our Abigail actor was there to eerily greet them as she danced around. Immediately after the screening finished, she came out bloody and screaming, spooking and scaring the guests. 

We captured and edited a sizzle promo video that was posted across 4XD’s Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
