Baby Don't Techno

Hi guys! This is my first post of many for IHEARTCOMIX. I've decided to start with some really NON Techno/Electro tracks that deserve some mention.

First is the amazingly creepy as all hell "Walk The Night" by The Skatt Bros.

Released in 1979 on Casablanca Records, the song seems to tell the story of a night stalker creeping around the streets...which is basically the most awesome slash scary shit ever for a disco song.

The Skatt Bros were supposed to be Canada's answer to The Village People but honestly, this ain't no Y.M.C.A. Check it:

Second is Fab Tak's "House of Funk" a release from the amazingly interesting and always ahead of the curve CODEK RECORDS. Like almost everything on CODEK, the track is disco/funk sample heavy (which I LOVE) with a really simple groove which totally gets under your skin after a couple of listens.

Third and finally is "Jack Rock" by Cassius. OK yeah, "1999" & "Feeling For You" are sort of coming back into vogue with a bunch of edits and remixes popping up here and there but "Jack Rock" is a totally unappreciated gem. Off their 3rd album "15 Again", it starts off as a slowly grooving acid track but at 2:19 in turns to a piano stomping old house track complete with The Stones' "Miss You"-esque vocals.....SO SICK...Writing this I feel like I'm basically writing a huge X on a treasure map for DJs.
