The music Messinian heard as a kid on the radio (David Bowie, James Brown, Van Halen), the music his parents listened to (Joy Division, Gang of Four) and his enlistment of DNBtoElectro soldiers, True Pseudo and Jayvon gave the project its dance-rock meets rave-rap sound.
