Christian Lacroix is as broke as you

Christian Lacroix relied on his iconic play on silhouette and shape more than ever. His haute couture show held in front of an audience of only 280 people at the Salon des Boisiers in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. This couture collection may be Christian Lacroix's last. The embroiderers and lace-makers, worked for free. The creations were cut from bolts of fabric the house already had on hand. The house, with no money to speak of and a staff cut to 12, conjured ensembles out of its creative ether.

Conjure outfits from your own creative ether by exploring local thrift stores and the back of your closet. All you need is a little inspiration from Lacroix.
