I love THE MAE SHI...

...but it took me a while to get there. A few months ago i picked up THE MAE SHI's new album and totally fell in love with it. It's been on my play list ever since.

What's funny about that is that this band has been right under my nose for years now! Not only do they hail from LOS ANGELES, but JEFF, who plays in the band, was my roommate for 2 years! I'd seen them play a few times back then, but the last few years since I've been focusing more on IHEARTCOMIX stuff I admittedly don't get to go out as much as I used to. All the while these dudes self produced and released (until Moshi Moshi picked them up) a fucking brilliant record!

The lead single is called 'Run To Your Grave' and is absolute goodness in more ways than i want to describe. You really just need to check it out for yourself:
