Our good buddy, AC SLATER, member of TROUBLE & BASS and all around rad dude, has stared his own digital record label. It's called PARTY LIKE US. Here's what it says in their press release:
"We are proud to announce the launch of Party Like Us Records, based out of the United States in Brooklyn, NY. Party Like Us Records is a digital label that features releases from AC Slater, Udachi, and B. Rich as well as remixes by our like minded producer friends from around the world. The mission with Party Like Us is to release dancefloor friendly tracks that incorporate all kinds of classic dance music elements with a creative and original edge. Basically, we like heavy bass that pounds and drives the dancefloor. We are distributed by Seed Distribution based out of Brooklyn, NY."
"The first release is fittingly the namesake of the label. "Party Like Us" by AC Slater has done a tour through the blog circuit back in 2007 and has returned in 2009 with 4 slamming remixes. Rave revival and bass is the name of the game with this one, and the Udachi and Kanji Kinetic remixes take the dancefloor energy to the next level. The Bulgarian gives it his jackin' house flavour with a quirky sprinkle of drum and bass here and there, while NYC based band Shy Child flips it around with a classic wonky house feel. This track has seen play on Radio 1 and Kiss 100 in the UK, and has been cained by some of the top DJs around."
Not being totally satisfied with this, I thought "Shit, let's get Aaron to answer some questions about it too!" So, here's a quick interview with AC SLATER:

IHEARTCOMIX: What prompted you to start a record label?
AC SLATER: I wanted an outlet where I could release some older stuff that was slated for a new label that never ended up happening last year. Then I realized I could release tracks by Udachi and B. Rich whom I work closely with on music, and have for a long time. These guys are amazing producers and deserve to be heard ASAP.
IHC: Tell us more about it.
AC SLATER: Its a digital label, distributed by Seed Distribution. Party Like Us Records is more of a side project for me than a main focus right now, but that doesn't mean it won't have really slamming tracks coming from it.
IHC: What's coming up?
AC SLATER: Well the 2nd release is a track I wrote a long time ago called "BanGer", along with remixes by Drop the Lime, Tittsworth, B. Rich, and Clark Able. After that we have a 5 track original EP by an unknown producer called BOLTAN. Those tunes are bonkers. The 4th release will be a B. Rich EP, what I've heard so far is great. And #5 will either be an Udachi EP or a BOLTAN remix EP, whatever gets finished first.
IHC: Will you be doing more of your own releases through this?
AC SLATER: Just these first two for now. We'll see. But I'll definitely be taking up some remix duties.
IHC: What about your relationship with trouble & bass?
AC SLATER: We're working more closely this year and we've got some huge things coming. I don't really want to say anything specific now but I'm very excited for sure. Watch out for someone from the T&B bowling team to bowl a perfect game this year (me).
IHC: What is next for AC SLATER? records, remixes, tours, etc...
AC SLATER: I've been so busy. I completed a 4 track EP for Jason Forrest's label Nightshifters. That will be coming out soon. At the moment I'm working on so many remixes, once those are done I'll be working on all original material for awhile. As for gigs I'm doing a tour with Jack Beats in March, then SXSW and WMC. Then I believe I'm hitting the UK again in April. Peep the myspace for details.
IHC: Best part of 2008?
AC SLATER: In no particular order: quitting my day job, Obama getting elected, the Levee, my birthday present.
IHC: What are you looking forward to most in 2009?
AC SLATER: There's so many things to look forward to, this year is going to be a total blast. So I'm looking forward to having fun.
And without further ado, the tracks:
