I'm not quite sure why, but a lot of my peers didn't really seem to like Sexual Sportswear too much. I thought it was pretty great. Maybe everyone's just got it in their heads that the French are good for songs just loud and compressed or loud and sidechained? Let's not forget they've got a proper understanding of Tangerine Dream-ish spacey melancholy as well:
Looks like I'm playing my first wedding gig next May, and I'm really looking forward playing to little slowjam sets where I alternate between stuff like this and new jack swing. Suppose I can get some of that in before the, too—opening sets are a whole lot of fun once you concede that certain genres just shouldn't get played before a certain hour..
*OK so this is way daydreamier and Lisa Frank-y than Sexual Sportswear but I just remembered this remix existed and needed an excuse to post it.
