2011 has been one hell of a year for us at IHEARTCOMIX. We went a lot of places, threw a lot of parties, and got very little sleep. From our abandoned mall takeover with Fool's Gold at SXSW to our Miani Mansion with Mad Decent to endless fun at Comic Con with Andrew WK & Dan Deacon to the first ever Check Yo Ponytail Tour, we've certainly set the ball high for 2012.

While we have turned our focus to our shows and parties for the meantime, IHEARTCOMIX Records remains a very important element for all of us. We love all of our artists and wish them only the best for them both on the stage and in their personal lives. With that said, it is with great sadness to announce that Greg Bowler and Jamie McNiel will be performing their last show as Acid Girls tonight at Los Globos for our newest weekly, Champagne.

Greg Bowler and Jamie McNiel have been DJing under the name Acid Girls for years now. Starting off as one of the first electro blogs pre-dating the great electro spring of early 2007, Acid Girls quickly turned their soft spoken wit and eclectic taste into well calibrated live mixes and sharp, progressive techno productions. Over the years, Acid Girls have DJed to packed rooms in sweaty dance clubs and darkened warehouses all over the world, but none more memorable than some of the smaller, intimate gatherings in their local LA zip code. While Greg and Jamie are closing out this chapter in their personal lives, the Acid Girls spirit lives on in the half remembered late night memories that we all try so hard to piece together the next day.

Tonight, we invite you to join us in celebrating the holidays and giving thanks to these two extraordinary people. As mentioned before, Acid Girls will be performing for the last time together tonight at Los Globos. There will be free champagne from 10-11 and we will also be giving out copies of The Numbers Song / Lightworks. Come party with Acid Girls one last time and help send them off properly. Tickets will be available at the door. $5/21+
Now that the year is over, IHEARTCOMIX is on vacation for the holidays. Make no mistake mind you, we will be shaking things up pretty drastically this next year. In addition to the incredible Check Yo Ponytail lineups we've already announced, IHEARTCOMIX will be getting a cosmetic upgrade; a new website complete with some exciting features and content that we are excited to share with all of you. Franki Chan just updated his and it looks spectacular. With that said, expect a more refined and collective version of the IHEARTCOMIX you've all come to know and love. See you all in 2012. Happy Holidays!

Amidst all of the preparations for the upcoming Check Yo Ponytail Tour, Franki Chan has found the time to release a few new tracks over on his soundcloud. In addition to the latest, Yes We Chan, Vol. I mixtape, which has recently been featured on Pitchfork and Media Contender, Chan gives us two new remixes. The first is a highly technical and stylized revision of the Death Set's, Slap, Slap, Slap, Pound, Up, Down, Snap; while the second reworks Deep Dark Robot's FYSB, with a dynamic crescendo that builds and builds itself up to its well calculated techno finish.

Franki Chan will be performing on the Check Yo Ponytail Tour with Spank Rock, Big Freedia, Pictureplane, and The Death Set starting October 20th. Check out the tour page for more information on where the tour is headed, as well as how to purchase tickets, and stay tuned for more exciting news from Franki Chan in the days to come.

An interesting thing happens when you get three notable titans of partying together to record a song. Matt & Kim, Andrew W.K., and Soulja Boy recently met at the brand new Rubber Tracks Studio in Brooklyn to collaborate for Converse's new Three Artists, One Song series, and the result is an honest, simple ballad that acts more like a personal reflection than a party anthem. Titled, I'm a Goner, the track features each artist taking turns adding testaments in their own distinct voice, on top of the classic drum and synth driven power pop that we've come to know from Matt & Kim. The track is still vibrant and lively, providing an appropriate tone that reflects the energy of each artist, while still allowing them to remain characteristically diverse.

Franki Chan's latest remix for SPF5000's, White Hot Fantasy is an extended, goth-house thriller complete with driving synths, precision sequencing, and a haunting disposition. The atmosphere is dense with sonic trills and sampled wildcats, completing the formula by mixing in classic house inspired vocal croons from the original. Check out Franki Chan's Soundcloud for this remix and more, including his recent live mix and podcast for Blue Microphones.
